IAM DIRECTOR

You already know the drift is there. This is how you prove it

You have the roadmap, the platforms, and the review cycle. What you do not have is a way to show what the granted authority actually creates. The Gathid Authority Map is that layer, and it is additive to the stack you have already built.

The problem you are closest to

Nobody in the organization understands the gap between intent and reality better than the person who runs identity. You know which exceptions were never unwound, which service accounts nobody will claim, and which role model has quietly stopped describing how access is actually granted. What you have lacked is a way to demonstrate that structurally, to people who are measured on whether reviews completed.

  • Role models that no longer reflect how authority is really held

  • Exceptions and workarounds that became permanent structure

  • Service and integration accounts with no owner willing to claim them

  • Governance metrics that improve while structural exposure does not

What the Gathid Authority Map adds to your stack

Gathid is not another review interface. It is a continuously maintained, queryable model of authority built from complete source data, sitting alongside what you already run and making it more precise.

  • Effective authority resolved across systems, not entitlement lists per platform

  • Multi-hop reachability answered as a query rather than as an investigation

  • Authority drift made visible between rebuilds, because the model is rebuilt rather than patched

  • Ownership gaps surfaced before an automation program inherits them

  • Direct access through the API or a permission-scoped MCP server for your own analysts, workflows, and AI assistants

What it changes for your program

  • Role mining and role design grounded in how authority is actually held today

  • Remediation sequenced by structural consequence, which is a defensible basis for a roadmap

  • Automation phases entered with the underlying authority understood first

  • A way to show progress in exposure terms, not only in campaign completion terms

A note on sequencing
Ownership before automation, and evidence before enforcement. Automating unclear authority amplifies risk rather than removing it, which is why understanding the structure is the phase that protects every phase after it.

How Gathid fits your stack

Alongside the stack you built. Gathid works with your IGA, IAM and PAM platforms, giving them a complete picture of authority to act on rather than competing with them.

Understand, measure, control. Authority structures you can see, quantify and change deliberately, rather than argue from anecdote.

Connected to where the work happens. The Gathid Authority Map is reachable through the API and a permission-scoped MCP server, and raises notifications and ITSM tickets in the systems your team already runs, so a structural finding becomes a tracked piece of work.

Attributable by design. The model reasons, your people decide. Every change stays traceable to the person who approved it, which is what lets you connect the model without inheriting a new risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

I already run IGA, access reviews and a role model. What does Gathid add?

A model of what all of that actually creates. Your platforms record what was requested, approved and provisioned, one system at a time. The Authority Map resolves those grants across systems, including inheritance, delegation, nested groups and integration accounts, and shows the effective authority each identity holds today. It is the layer between your governance data and the real structure, and it is additive to everything you already run.

How does Gathid overlap with the analytics or role mining modules in my IGA platform?

Those modules work from the entitlement data the platform holds, which is usually a per-system view. The map works from complete source data across systems and persists the relationships between identities, roles, credentials and assets, so it can answer multi-hop questions the module cannot. It feeds role design rather than competing with it: you mine roles against how authority is actually held, and provision them through the platform you already own.

How do I show the drift I already know is there?

By pointing at it. The map makes the gap between intent and reality structural: the role model that no longer describes how access is granted, the exceptions that became permanent, the service accounts nobody will claim. Each appears as a measurable structure rather than as an anecdote, and drift between rebuilds appears as change in that structure. That is evidence you can put in front of people who are measured on whether reviews completed.

How does Gathid help me make the case for the next phase of the program?

It gives the roadmap a defensible basis. Remediation and automation phases can be sequenced by structural consequence, starting where authority concentrates and where ownership is missing, and progress can be reported in exposure terms rather than only campaign completion. A CISO or CIO who sees the number of identities with critical reach falling has a reason to fund the next phase that a completion rate does not provide.

How does Gathid help before an automation phase?

By surfacing the ownership gaps and unclear authority an automation program would otherwise inherit. Provisioning and role-based access assume the underlying structure is understood; where it is not, automation propagates the drift faster. The map tells you where authority is understood enough to automate and where it needs an owner first, which is the sequencing the page describes: ownership before automation, evidence before enforcement.

How does Gathid change role design?

It grounds it in how authority is actually held today rather than in how roles were defined. You can see which identities share effective authority regardless of their assigned roles, where a role grants more than it describes, and where exceptions have accumulated into a structure that deserves its own role. Role mining against the map produces roles that match reality, which is what makes them stick after provisioning.
